We suggest starting with one bar every other day. Many mums tell us they feel the effects quickly so it's best to begin slowly and adjust to what works for you. One box [6 bars] is around a 2-week supply. Enjoy them straight from the wrapper, or get creative - try warming a bar and crumbling it over yoghurt, custard for a treat.

A note on milk supply:
Our lactation bars are made with galactagogues and many breastfeeding mums find them helpful. Every body is different, results can vary. Because of this we cannot offer refunds or replacements if you don't notice a change in milk supply.

Do the lactation bars actually work?
Mums tell us they do! 96% of our reviews are 5-star. Our bars are packed with galactagogues - ingredients traditionally used to support breastmilk supply. That said, every body is different and can't promise specific results. What we do promise is a delicious bar, New Zealand's only lactation bar.

Do I have to be breastfeeding to eat them?
Not at all. While are bars were designed with breastfeeding and pumping mums in mind, they're safe for anyone to enjoy.

Can I eat them if I'm pregnant?
Yes - eating one is just like having a muesli bar made from familiar, pantry-friendly ingredients. However, it's not necessary to eat them before birth, as lactation depends on hormones and breastfeeding or expressing. For a boost in breastmilk supply it's best to enjoy them once your baby has arrived.

What is a galactagogue?
It is a substance traditionally used to support breastmilk supply. In our bars these include brewer's yeast, oats, chia seeds and linseed.

How many bars should I eat?
We recommend starting with 1 bar every other day. Some mums notice an effect quickly so it's best to begin slowly and adjust to your needs. We don't recommend more than one bar per day.

Are the bars dairy free?
Our bars are made without dairy. However, they are manufactured in a multi-allergen facility and may contain traces of dairy.

Are the bars gluten free?
No - our bars are oat based and therefore contain gluten.

Do the bars contain soy?
Yes - soy lecithin is included in our recipe and soy is also present in some of the other ingredients we use.

Do the bars have an expiry date?
Yes - each bars is stamped with a best before date. They have a 12 month shelf life from the date of production.
